Limiting Search same color fill to One Artboard

Recommended Posts

Can I only search in one artboard for the same color found in more than one? For concepts, I copy an artboard that has everything right except for tweaking the colors and so I'd like to be able to choose only the same fill color on the second copy to adjust it but leave that same color on the first one artboard, hope this makes sense.

It makes sense, but no, you can't. The Select Same operations currently look at all Artboards and can't be restricted.

Since an artboard is an object and a container, a workaround is to

  1. select the Artboard layer in the Layers panel
  2. copy
  3. create a temporary new empty  document
  4. paste
  5. do your edits
  6. copy the edited Artboard layer
  7. switch to your original document
  8. paste the edited artboard
  9. delete the original artboard

wish the "select same" can be applied just on active artboard on next update

This topic is in the Questions part of the forum.

The planners look in the Feature Requests part of the forum to gather input for future changes, so I'm afraid your wish won't be seen by them here.
