"Proper" Rotate option.

Recommended Posts

Was wondering if it would be possibly to implement a better Rotate option. Yeah the move tool is okay, but I think a dedicated rotate key would be great. Maybe if a layer is selected it'll just rotate the selected layer, and if nothing is selected it'll rotate the entire document/canvas? Like how Photoshop has. Just a thought.

Yes I got that, but I'm saying a better rotate option would be something to look into. Where it's a single press of a button, not options one has to go through, especially without needing to use the Move tool, which most of it seems to be unless you want large rotations. PS has it bound to R, which brings up a compass to signify your rotation, even with a red North arrow this way you can rotate the layer back to it's original position once finished. I think it would be nice.

The Move tool is your friend! :)

PS has

Photoshop Schmotofopp. It has it's own quirks which I, for one, couldn't stand for the past 25 years.

Yeah but I'm talking about options, I personally don't like the move tool and wish there was something closer to the PS rotate tool. And I get that, each is different and some prefer one over the other. I just think if they implemented the option, while still keeping what they have for those who like it, it would be fantastic. Gotta remember a good portion of people came to AF from PS, especially for the one time cost. It's more so me throwing out suggestions and discussion. I know AF has it's own tools, I'm just saying that I personally see no harm in a rotate tool like Photoshop's. Get me?

My apologies for trying to be helpful. It won't happen ever again.

Oh I'm not saying I don't appreciate help and whatnot, just was confused if that was your intention to link QT videos that's all. I'm not even sure if I have QT, I'll have to check.
