Marc Marx
Hello forum :) I have a small problem: If I create a file with transparencies, I can not export PDFX3. Is there another way? Staff Callum Posted October 13, 2015 Staff Share Posted October 13, 2015 Hi Marc Marx, Exporting to PDF -X3 does support transparency. Preview isn't able t show this transparency but other apps can. If you export your PDF and then go to File and Place and place the PDF into a new document you will see that it has kept its transparency. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
Dave Harris
Is this with the customer beta? The Mac App Store version doesn't support PDF/X yet. The beta does, and it should handle transparency correctly. Actually PDF/X3 doesn't support transparency natively, but Affinity will rasterise any transparent areas so the document looks the same. PDF/X4 does support transparency and may be a better version to use if your printer supports it.
Marc Marx
Hello in the round, I now have the solution :) Everything ought to be shown transparently, is rasterized. If I do that, I can not export PDF /X-3, the calculation then lasts too long.
