I am using Designer to trace shape using the pencil tool.  After creating a couple lines, I go back and join the lines together to create one large outline. However, after the 2nd or 3rd join, the app crashes and you lose all of your progress

Hi TangoTL,

We do have a similar issue logged, but it is file specific. I've tried it myself on a few simple curves and not getting a crash.

Would you be able to attach a copy of the file you're using to reproduce the crash please, and if possible get a screen recording showing the steps you're taking to reproduce the crash.

Thanks for the video,

Unfortunately I'll need the afdesign file with the actual curves in. Are you able to draw the curves as shown in the video, but prior to joining them return to the home screen and then Save the file from the preview's menu button (just to the right of the size and colour mode).

Sean, here is a link to the AF file: REMOVED

I can draw the curves in the video using an Apple Pencil.   I have tried going to the Home Screen and saving the file.  As a work-around, I've just been saving the file, opening it on my Window's machine running designer, joining the lines, saving to google drive and then opening it on my iPad to continue tracing.  I was hoping to save a step by joining the lines on the iPad, but no such luck yet.

If you open the attached AF file, joining any one of those curves will cause the app to crash back to the homepage.

I've uploaded the file to the dropbox (thank you for that).  The file should contain an image with several "pencil curves" drawn over top.  Those are the ones that I am having issues with. I also tested on my MacBook, I can join the lines with no issues on the MacBook and on my Windows machine.  Only crashes on the iPad.

Hi @Morio,

I just tried on my iPad Pro M1 which has similar specs with the Air 2022 and there’s no issues. If you didn’t figure it out already, you probably should try a force restart as shown here:

A short video proof that I had no crashes below; all the best!
