R C-R Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 You should avoid trying to directly open anything in the Photos Library.photoslibrary container in any app besides the Apple Photo app. This is because the Apple Photo app maintains a database of where everything in it is located, a set of original unedited versions, what changes have been made to the originals, caches, etc. If you make any changes to any of these things outside of the Apple app, things can become corrupted or lost, with no way to recover tghem. (This is why it is greyed out in the Affinity open window.) Refer to the warning at the end of this Apple help topic. It only refers to Finder but it applies to the open dialog in any app. Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
