Brushes in phot keep changing

As I am working I find the brush tool changing to the color replacement brush or the pixel brush. I am using the hot key to change to the brush, maybe I am getting a double tap or something but it is very frustrating to start painting and suddenly not getting the expected brush tool. This happens pretty frequently.  Is there some way to make this stop? I never use these other tools.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

For tools which share the same shortcut key, if you're already on that tool and press the key again it switches to the next one. So, perhaps, you're pressing it unnecessarily and causing a switch.

There's a Preference for that which you could enable, and it will help:
