Tinz
The way masking works in Photoscape X Pro is excellent, particularly with gradients. I can easily see what the mask is doing and I can also adjust it at any time. Unfortunately in Affinity Photo, I can't tweak a gradient on a mask if I leave the layer to edit a different layer. I have to recreate it again from scratch. This makes the workflow really annoying and I often end up abandoning Affinity Photo and using other tools as gradients are very important to my work, so please consider making adjustments and improvements to your very impressive editor, to improve gradient features. affinityfan

I have tried this and it has a strong use case using the Overlay Blend Mode, so it looks like a good alternative so far to thinking in terms of masks. I will need to experiment further with it. I was delighted to see that the Gradient didn't vanish though, that's the main hurdle I needed to overcome. Thanks.
