MikeTO
This is a very minor bug or design flaw. The Next Style attribute doesn't seem to do anything for character styles. The help page is silent on what this option does for character styles so it may have been a deliberate decision but if so the option should be disabled as not applicable. The question is what could triggers the Next Style action. For a paragraph style the trigger is obviously pressing return and starting a new paragraph. I think pressing return should do the same thing for character style because there is no other logical trigger - you certainly wouldn't want to trigger it after a space. It's unlikely that you'd want a character style to continue for multiple paragraphs - although you can do it if you like, character styles are applied to part of a paragraph and not to multiple paragraphs. If I were designing the UI, I would have provided only two Next Style options for a character style - Same Style or No Style - and I would trigger Next Style when the user starts a new paragraph. In any case, what I'm looking for is for the ability to set No (character) Style when starting a new paragraph.
