My document is using fonts which have since been updated to support new scripts, and therefore renamed somewhat.

However, when trying to use the Find/Replace tool to replace the missing fonts in the document, it doesn't seem to fully replace them in Tables, even when clicking "Replace All".

To add to this, any empty cells in a table are still locked to the missing font. Even when manually selecting the column or even the table and changing the font, it still defaults to the missing font when creating a new column, or selecting a cell that has no text in it.

Am I missing something obvious here? Because I'm getting beyond frustrated with this, considering how simple it was on Illustrator to replace missing fonts.

Edit: To elaborate further, when using the Font Manager to locate the missing fonts, it points me into areas where the font is actually already correct, and even though I'm scrolling through the text in the tables with the right arrow key, I'm not seeing the "? Missing font" name anywhere.

Using v1.9.1.979 Windows Store edition of Affinity Publisher.

Hi, thank you for your quick response.

I noticed Affinity Publisher updated today on the Windows Store, but still the problem persists.

I have submitted a ZIP containing the package just now. The email address is different to the one I use to log in here.

Also by Illustrator I mean InDesign - I must have been tired, or stressed :)

I figured a video would explain the issue better;

As a suggestion, simply having a replace button in the Font Manager (as well as/instead of "Substitute") would make replacing fonts in documents much simpler, whether they're missing or not. Particularly because in my case I have to manually go back and make the rows Bold again, since due to the naming, "Venn Cd" is treated the same as "Venn Cd Bold" (and as seen in the video, Venn Cd Bold doesn't appear as missing in the find/replace, even though it is mentioned and listed separately in the Font Manager)...

I would not specify a trait when choosing the replacement font. That should pick up all the instances correctly. Try that and see how it goes.

That seems to have done the trick for now. Thanks.

Were you able to see how the Locate button seems to incorrectly locate the supposedly replaced fonts in tables though? Or how changing the font when selecting columns doesn't seem to do anything?
