Doubled lines in Index

I have a problem with creating the index. When there are more pagenumbers than the column is wide it 'doubles' the pagenumbers. See the attachment. Spend an hour to fix it or find a solution but couldn't.

Check the paragraph leading specified in the text style you're using for your index entries (by default, Index Entry 1).

It's acting as though you have overridden the leading to 0 for that paragraph style.

Thanks Walt. Still don't get it quite. If I select all the entries of a letter, then both Index Entry and Index Entry 1 are selected. When I choose "Apply Index Entry 1 to Characters" (which has a dash before it instead of a check) my above mentioned problem disappears.

Look at the definition of Index Entry and of Index Entry 1 by editing them from the Text Styles panel. (Actually, look at the index style you are using; those are just default text styles, and you may have assigned your own that have different names.)

Check the Paragraph Leading values in each. One of them is probably 0.

(Alternatively, with the text cursor in the index term, look in the Paragraph studio panel and check the Leading value. Or look in the Context Toolbar. But to fix this will probably require an update to the text style.)

My guess: You were trying to get the index entries closer together, and at some point you changed the Leading value. After noticing that did not help, you then discovered that you needed to change the Space After setting, and did so, but forgot to remove your Leading change.

Tada. Deleted the index, made a new one, looked at what you wrote and I think have solved it now.
