Issue with Channel selection and mask

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've having trouble getting my channel selection to make a nice mask. I've created a spare channel and got a decent selection of the cat I want but when it comes to masking it, it looks terrible. I load this as a pixel selection:Capture2.thumb.JPG.284ae1920d21a265843df7e6a402e80c.JPG

and it looks okay as a quick mask:Capture3.thumb.JPG.8163867dea269b3eb7abb3c6f5ea7ffc.JPG

but then as soon as I come to mask it, it comes out like this:Capture4.thumb.JPG.9970306b1d6cddc1dc7e1c02bc5fd3c6.JPG

What's going on here/ what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance, I'm sure it's me doing something stupid, so any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

difficult to say based only on the description

could you upload the original file, and a video of your editing steps?
The mask itself looks ok on first sight.

if you are on windows, please try to deactivate OpenCL in preferences->performance as this solves many rendering issues of 1.9.979
