Hello,

does anybody know if there is a way to fill an object with a half drop repeat pattern? While using the Fill tool > Bitmap, one can fill an object with a simple repeat pattern, but I can't find a way to fill it with a half drop repeat pattern.

Thanks in advance,

Ema

Welcome to the forum @Ema

You could fill the object and then mask/clip/hide half of it.

Which app are you using?

@firstdefence, thank you for your quick reply! I'm using Affinity Designer for desktop. The tile that I built repeats half way, see image below. I would like to fill a big rectangle with this pattern to make a wallpaper.

The fill tool makes this easy for simple repeats, but I would like to do the same with my half drop repeat pattern.

You will need to redraw your "Repeated Tile" artwork so it is 1:2 instead of the 1:1 with the same elements but having them be offset by 50% on the Y axis.

Quick and nasty mockup

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
