I've attached a screen shot comparing two PDF exports from Designer.

The only difference is the garbled PDF uses a mask to create the irregular curves along the 4 sides.

TIF export is fine.

Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

UPDATE: a recipient has told me the file looks find on her machine. So it must be my image viewer app which is buggy (Preview on macOS).

Hi @vox Sorry for the delay.

If you still have the same issue when exporting to PDF and being previewed? Can you provide a link to your Designer document so I can take a look, if it is the way the PDF is being exported it may be something that can be improved.

Hi Lee, using the same PDF file exported with the mask, the problem exists for Preview and Safari, but not for Firefox or Vivaldi browsers. It also renders fine with Acrobat and Edge browser on Windows 10. Maybe faulty PDF rendering in the default macOS apps due to their age (I'm still using macOS Sierra 10.12.6)? In any case, the problem is on my machine only. Thanks for checking.
