Hi,

I've posted a question on here but would like to edit it.  I have edited it once but can no longer see how to edit or delete my post.

How do I do this?

Thanks.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

The forum administrators have previously explained that some forum functions are restricted to users who have been here a certain minimum number of days or made a certain number of posts. This is done to help avoid spam.

Editing posts is one of those, I think.

For deletion: Only moderators can truly delete posts or topics. Again, users who have been here long enough have in the past been able to Hide them, which accomplishes much the same function. However, recently the forum administrators have been further restricting the ability to Hide posts or topics. They have not yet explained all their plans in that area, as far as I have seen.

If you want to clarify your post, or if you’ve found the solution to the problem posed, simply post a reply in the same thread.

I would have thought it’d make sense to be able to edit posts but I guess that’d open it up to confusion going forward if there are replies.
Thanks for the responses.

@Del H

You have been caught by our spam defences, sorry. They are in place to make these forums a more pleasant place for all, but do make it a bit trickier for "new members"

"New members" are those who have posted less than 4 times and joined less than 5 days ago.

New Members are restricted from editing posts 12 hours after they made that post (you can edit for up to 12 hours). This was done because spammers were coming back after a few days and editing spam links into their approved posts, which has almost completely stopped now.

I have promoted you to "Member" and this time restriction has been removed on editing posts. You can now edit or hide your posts.
