Hello, I now have version 1.9.1.979 of Affinity Photo and although previous versions have crashed from time to time, this version is far worse. I am using a Lenovo desk top, 64 bit, 16 GB ram and Windows 8.1. What can I or you do to stop this annoying feature of the program?

I much prefer using Affinity Photo to Photoshop which I previously used. Please help so I don't have to return to that program.

Thank you, Geoff.

Hello @Geoff11,

Welcome to the forum.

Which graphics chip does your system use, is the graphics driver is up to date?

Disable OpenCl, is always worth trying.

Cheers

Hello Gnobelix,

Thank you for replying. I'm new to forums and I don't know too much about computers.

The graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce GT630 with 2 GB and version 9.18.13.2702. I have never updated the graphics driver but I will try to do it. I will also try to find the "Preferences" and the "OpenCl" if I can work out how to do it.

Many thanks.

Hello Gnobelix,

I have carried out all your suggestions and so far no more crashes and the program seems to run faster. I'm delighted you managed to help me sort my problem - much appreciated and again, many thanks.

I have the same problem and have reverted to the excellent 1.8.5 until this is fixed.

The1.9  Beta versions do not work for me either but these Beta links below  may perhaps work for you.

Alternatively You can always download 1.8.5 (or earlier) from the below link:
