Discovered in 1.9.1 on macOS 10.13.6, OpenGL display mode (haven't checked to see if the display mode is relevant):

  1. Create a shape with a stroke
  2. Turn it into a symbo
  3. Drag a second instance of the symbol onto the canvas
  4. Select one of the symbols and group it (command+G)
  5. With the group selected (and sync enabled), change the stroke width
    • The stroke width of the symbol within the group changes, but the stroke width of the one outside the group does not appear to
  6. Move the symbol which is outside the group, and its stroke width suddenly snaps to match that of the one inside the group

Changing the stroke width of the instance outside the group causes both to update immediately, as does expanding the group in the Layers panel, selecting the symbol inside, and changing the stroke width directly on the symbol.

Hi fde101,

This is actually a simple redraw issue - if you zoom out after Step 5, it will redraw the canvas and then display the correct size for the stroke. I'll get it passed over to dev.

Thanks for letting us know.
