Can't change tab stop character

Recommended Posts

Indeed, both text fields "Character" and "Position" seem to be blocked and don't react on keys in the Edit Style panel.

It appears to be related to the color field issue:

As a workaround I can use the Paragraph panel with a selected text frame, then update the saved Style with that change.

@Pauls The same things still apply with Publisher v.2.1.1 on MacOS 12.6.7.
Problem as well as workaround…

Problem

When modifying Tab stops in the Style > Edit or the Find and Replace > Format dialogs, I cannot delete or type anything in the fields "Character", " Position" and "Decimal" even if I can select all or part of their content.

Workaround

Using the Paragraph panel and updating the style.

Freshly proposed workarounds

— In the field "Position", arrows work (though rounding any decimal value).

— For the fields "Decimal" and "Character" (not "Position"), the macOS Character Viewer (via the globe key 🌐 on certain keyboards or the menu bar) allows to input text in, even if the keyboard is useless.
To validate it, you will have to click in another field before leaving the dialog, since the Return key is as inefficient as any other.

I assume you rather wanted to link to this / quote from this current thread … ? …

@thomaso I effectively came on this topic after reading the one you cite but if I posted here (reviving this old thread), it was to remind Serif that the same bug you lifted up still exists in Publisher v.2.1.1 on Mac.

Perhaps would it be better to create a new topic ? I don't know very well the uses on this forum…

The issue "[macOS] Text Style Panel - numeric entry for colour values in sliders not possible" (REF: AF-204) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.3.0.2083".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
