KingaKongo Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 (edited) I am a total newbie. When I drag a photo off the internet to my desktop, some of these photo files have a folded corner, some do not. I'm not sure what the differences are between the photos. • none of them have layers when saved • all of the files are RGB • many are untouched, unmodified, others may be cropped or some other simple operation made to them • all photos have been downloaded from the internet What am I doing differently. I can't find any differences in the files themselves, or how I've saved them. Just annoying to see the folded corner ~ KingaKongo Edited March 11, 2021 by KingaKongo clarity Quote
Old Bruce Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 Hi and welcome to the forums @KingaKongo, What Operating System are you using? Regardless, please enable file extension visibility in your OS. This way you will be able to tell if the file is a PNG, .GIF, .SVG etc You may have an application set to automatically open PNGs and this will claim ownership and assign its 'document' icon to that type of file and this may be one with a folded corner (or no folded corner), it may be set to show an automatically generated preview (or not) Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
