Chiller55
I am new to this, so please bear with me, I cannot figure out how to put my photos in a library and give it a name, also what are macros? Thanks
JT_Allen
I can partially answer your question. Macro's are automated workflows in Affinity Photo. Using the Macro feature, you can record a series of steps (Such as Black & White adjustment to photos) that can be saved in a Macro Library for future use to eliminate, often repetitive, actions thereby saving potentially hours of time, especially when batch processing. For future reference, and for others sake to help you best, please be specific about which application you need help with regarding "Library" (which could be any library in the software) and "Macros" (which are built into Affinity Photo). This way, others aren't hesistant about helping you. Just like in a search engine, being specific helps you get better answers.

Hello @Chiller55, and welcome to the forums. By library, here, I think you are looking for a DAM or Digital Assets Manager. Afffinity do not offer such a facility. In the past, they have made noises about producing a DAM, but all has gone verg quiet on that front for the last year or so. So, don't hold your breath waiting for one. Chiller55
Hi John, But say I am working on a few photos, where should I store them and give the folder a name so that I can easily find them when I want to work on them or are they stored in my pictures on my laptop? walt.farrell
Put them where you think you will be able to find them and access them easily. Each user's needs, and thought patterns, are probably different in some way. And thus the "right" answer for one user may not work well for another. I like to organize photos primarily by date, but for special projects I may create a project folder with an appropriate name. My wife likes to organize photos by subject (flowers, birds, ...). I also have to factor in, for both of us, making sure that wherever they are they get backed up, so they can be recovered later if there's a problem, or moved easily to a new computer.
