wfsed Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 (edited) I am using a template from yellowiamges.com that included embedded documents. I am sure it perfectly worked months ago in Affinity Designer. Now with 1.9.1 showing the correct perspective of the embedded documents is broken. In my screenshot you will see the correct wrapping/perspective in the window on the right (showing macOS Preview) and the loaded (unchanged) template file in Affinity Designer. I enabled the setting to load PSD smart objects Edited March 6, 2021 by wfsed Quote
Staff Sean P Posted March 11, 2021 Staff Posted March 11, 2021 Hi wfsed, Would you be able to attach a copy of the PSD you're loading into Affinity and the AFdesign file you've shown please? I've created a link to our internal dropbox so you don't have to upload then publicly:https://www.dropbox.com/request/rWIp93dkc786v3Nncusu Thanks, Quote
Staff Sean P Posted March 12, 2021 Staff Posted March 12, 2021 Thanks for the file. This isn't a bug, but is caused by not having a Live Warp tool. It looks like the TIF has been saved with Photoshop Layers. The Smart Layers in Photoshop have a custom Warp transform applied. Whilst Affinity Photo does have a Warp Transform it is applied to the pixel layer so cannot be edited aftewards. As we don't have a method to edit the Transform it is applied to the object on import (with Import Smart Objects disabled), however with Import Smart Objects enabled, the editable smart object is retained so cannot be warped as it is not a pixel layer. I do believe this has been raised in the feature request forum however. Quote
wfsed Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 Thanks for testing! Did you test it in Designer? Does it have a Live Warp Tool? ...so its impossible that it once worked in Affinity Designer? I am not really sure but i think I once did a design with that template Quote

I am not really sure but i think I once did a design with that template By worked, it will only 'look' like it has worked if you open the TIF with Import Smart Objects disabled in Preference. I say 'look' because the template layer will appear warped, but is no longer editable and is instead has the warp baked onto the pixel layer. I did test Designer and also checked Photo (which does have a destructive Warp Tool, but not a Live One). Quote
