[By Design] Create Countour Object Through Bolean Operation Cannot Independen Adjust It

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

Please advise me if I’m wrong, its seems like a bug that I cannot independently move the object with Countour Tool after I have created it through Boolean Operating (Add objects) as I cannot see the menu “Create Compound” in Ipad , the problem is All the objects have in grouped  it then I can’t move the independently of the part of the object (3 Circles), however with Affinity Designer for Windows I can did it. Please see the attached screen recording

For the information I use Affinity Designer version 1.9.1 (build 1.9.7) & iPAD OS: 14.4

Awaiting the advis and information

Thanks & B/regards,

Hi HANDJOJO,

This is not a bug. There are two types of Boolean objects: Regular and Compound. With a regular one the geometry is committed so you and becomes one object and baked in so cannot be edited. The second is compound where the original objects are retained and can be edited. Due to the limited space of the UI on the iPad we couldn't reveal everything on menus, so if you want to create a Compound Boolean you need to long press the 'Add' operation in the Edit menu. At which point you will see 'Compound created' and you can then still edit the existing objects. Please see the help topic on the iPad called 'Creating Compounds'.
