Textrahmen trennen und Inhalt erhalten/Separate text frames and preserve content

Recommended Posts

  1. Select the text in the second text frame and Edit > Cut to save and delete it.
  2. Choose the Move Tool, click on the first text frame.
  3. Click on the lower-right linking triangle.
  4. Move the cursor over the text frame, and it should turn into a "delete link" cursor. Click.
  5. Select the second text frame, and Edit > Paste to restore its content.

Note: This assumes that the second frame was the last one in the text flow. If the second frame linked to a third one that contained text, it's harder.

Well, of course, this works, but this whole thing should be improved by Serif!

Fair enough, InDesign has a neat 1-step trick here: select the text frame and duplicate it.
That doesn't work in Publisher.

After more than 20 years with Indesign, it feels very hard to make the switch in many places.
In some places Serif should urgently rethink and reprogram.

Comparing 20 years of Indesign to 2 years of APu, we came quite far already. I wonder where we get in 18 years. 🤔

In 18 years I hope to be retired 😁

But until then, I think I'll work with Publisher. Of course, we're only at version 1.9.1, so you can't compare that to version 6 of Indesign either.
