Hi Affinity Forum,

I fear the update of Designer (version 1.9.1.979) contains a bug. I was putting down some brush strokes on a pixel layer that I had just moved away from the canvas edge. From that point on I noticed the pixel layer had automatically restricted itself (like when you make a selection) to a smaller surface to work on. Exactly where the canvas edge was before, there now was an "unwritable" white strip at the bottom of the pixel layer. Usually I could drag a layer anywhere on the canvas and draw outside its range (expand the content of the layer) as much as I wanted to. Now I had to restart the desktop app to make it work again.

Another question: When I try to invert a selection using (Ctrl+Shift+i) the selection range always goes baserk. Instead of turning the selected area into unselected pixels and vice versa, it doesn't match the range I chose anymore and just randomly selects a small part of the canvas at the top left corner. Drives me insane. What am I doing wrong here? This is a recurring "error" I've seen in the previous version and still see happening in this current version of Affinity Designer. Can't find any clue in the workbook or on the forum. Please help!

I'm using Affinity on Windows.

Thanks in advance!

Ruben.

Hi @RubenRomijn, Sorry for delay, we're very busy at the moment and your post seems to have slipped through the net. Please make sure you've updated your Affinity apps as for Windows they are now on version 1.9.2.

In terms of pixel layers, if they're selected by the Move Tool the bounding frame/box will only be as big as it need to be to include the contents of the pixel layer. But if you are still experiencing this issue can you please provide an example?

When inverting a selection it you should see a selection line around the entire document edge. If not can you provide an example of this happening.
