GCHodge Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Hey, all. I've got another question regarding pattern layers. It's nice that I can link layer effects, opacity, pixel content, etc. for pattern layers but I was hoping that I could also link the pattern transforms, i.e., scaling, rotation, shear, etc. Is there a way to do this and, if not, does anybody have a suggestion for a workaround? thanks, again. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a way to get this to work in Affinity Photo, however do you also have access to Affinity Designer? If you create the Pattern Layer in Affinity Photo, then use File > Edit In Affinity Designer to send the document there, you can create a Symbol for the Pattern layer, then you can add multiple instances of this symbol and then rotating one of the pattern layers will rotate them all at the same time. I hope this helps Quote
Frances Proctor Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 You can do this in Photo with out needing to link them First open the transform panel and make sure that both pattern layers have the same center of rotation. It helps if the patterns are the same size depending on what you are doing but the largest pattern will give you your control handles. enable snapping if you dont have it on and snap both patterns to the middle of the page. Shift or control click on Windows( I believe its alt or option on a mac) to select both patterns in the layer stack and you can control them together. scale, rotate, Shear and skew will work in sync. I am actually preparing to do a video that uses this very technique Dan C 1 Quote Follow me on Creative Fabrica
