WildCottage Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 I had the notification from the App Store. I went to 'updates' and clicked on 'All' (I have Designer too), but after some time it simply failed. I still have a '2' on the App Store notifications in the Dock, but nothing under 'Update' at the App Store itself. Anyone else getting this please? I'm on MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 There was no problem updating Publisher through the app itself (not the App Store). Quote
Dazmondo77 Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 I was having the same problem, which seems to be all down to the app store on Mojave - I spent most of the day on Thursday trying to download with the exact same problem as you're experiencing Here is a solution: On 2/26/2021 at 7:44 AM, Dazmondo77 said: For any other Mojave users who have had trouble with the MAS hanging on all downloads (for me on two different macs running Mojave) I found a solution that worked from a user (User366) on stack exchange, that sorted the app store: APP Store Fix Go to Activity Monitor and force-kill appstoreagent process. The app started to download at once. After force-killing appstoreagent, there was no need to log out and log in again in the App Store. Updates and downloads just work again. Hope this helps Now have Pub Des Pho working great on both Macs - Great work team Quote Mac Pro Cheese-grater (Early 2009) 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 48 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC Ram, Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5, Ugee 19" Graphics Tablet Monitor Triple boot via OCLP 2.2.0 - Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6, Sonoma 14.7.3 and Mojave 10.14.6 Affinity Publisher, Designer and Photo 1.10.5 - 2.6.2 Betas 2.6. www.bingercreative.co.uk
Dazmondo77 Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 It looks like this is a reoccurring problem (although app store was working fine last week) I went on today and downloads are stuck again so tried the force quit appstoreagent and back to normal - looks like Apple have been telling users to re-install mojave and a few users have had success after installing multiple times - seems a bit extreme for me! Lets hope it gets fixed - although, the workaround seems to work OK for the time being SPaceBar 1 Quote Mac Pro Cheese-grater (Early 2009) 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 48 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC Ram, Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5, Ugee 19" Graphics Tablet Monitor Triple boot via OCLP 2.2.0 - Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6, Sonoma 14.7.3 and Mojave 10.14.6 Affinity Publisher, Designer and Photo 1.10.5 - 2.6.2 Betas 2.6. www.bingercreative.co.uk
WildCottage Posted February 27, 2021 Author Posted February 27, 2021 Dazmondo77 - Many thanks for this - it worked for me by force-quitting appstoreagent. It took a couple of attempts, and I still have the notification (even after a re-start), but both apps are showing 1.9.1 We shall see! Dazmondo77 1 Quote
jupf Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Same problem here with Mojave. Force quitting appstoreagent didn't work for me since now (several attempts). Quote
jupf Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Now after several more tries, and force-quitting appstoreagent while running AppStore, Affinity Photo 1.9.1 downloaded successfully. Dazmondo77 and SPaceBar 2 Quote
