CheungyNSX
Hi there, I was trying to update Affinity Designer from 1.9.0 to 1.9.1 last night, but I ended up having an error during the installing phase and it came up with an error that said the following: "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Affinity\Designer\d3dcompiler_47.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory." Has anybody else encnountered this issue? If so, does anybody know how to solve it? Thanks in advance. P.S. I also tried to update Affinity Photo from 1.9.0 to 1.9.1 and that appeared to have the same issue. The Affinity Folder has seemingly disappeared from my C:\ Drive now. Mark Ingram
Have you tried restarting your PC first?

Jan van der Aa
I have the same Problem. I click to Install the update and that's all. Installing doesn't go further. Who can help me? Thank you.
CheungyNSX
To add further details to this, these are things I've found after trying to install the 1.9.1 update for Affinity Designer and Photo: > Affinity Designer and Photo 1.9.0 both disappearing from my apps list without a trace. > Restarting the PC and attempting the re-install would show the same error. > Attempts to install Affinity Designer and Photo 1.9.0 using the previous installer package would also show the same error. Hopefully this extra bit of information may be of use for the devs. I don't exactly want to do a fresh install of Windows at this moment in time, so it would be nice to hopefully see this rather odd issue figured out Edited February 28, 2021 by CheungyNSX
David Tee
A similar problem - I'm trying to update from the App Store. Designer and Publisher have updated perfectly well but the update to Photo is hanging - get to about 90% completion then stops and eventually tells me to try again later. CheungyNSX
Just now, David Tee said: A similar problem - I'm trying to update from the App Store. Mine doesn't even get to 90%. Preparing appears to work just fine, but then when it comes to the installing phase, the bar just zooms to the right and the error I show pops up. CheungyNSX
@David Tee @Jan van der Aa I've just stopped my anti-virus software and the installation worked as expected. It appeared that I've been having issues with multiple programs due to my anti-virus recently for some reason, as Affinity isn't the only thing that has been affected by my AV being on.
