Changes and fixes in 1.9 made since 1.8 (including the new 1.9 features) are listed in some detail in this 1.9.0 Designer Windows update announcement

The 1.9 new features are explained by our team in this video

UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (free for existing customers)

The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Designer).

If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Designer for Windows) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Windows Store purchases and needs a product key).

If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store— Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.

Thank you all in affinity team, this print crash was starting to get in my nerves lately. A lot of preview prints those days.

Ah it sad the openCL was disabled for AMD cards, I was hoping to use it in home with my 5500XT, but well not a big lose for me since I mostly work in office which is not getting any GPU upgrade anytime soon with those crazy GPU prices out there.

(Just wanted to add a side note here that may be of interest for AMD users because like me they probably don't know what card works and what does not, the only 7XXX card that support this is 7790 that is a newer CGN card. If you are like me and have anything else before that you are out of luck. You will need something from radeon 2XX and above.)

Current Workstation:
CPU: AMD FX 8350 Wraith - MOBO: Asus Sabertooth 990fx r2.0 - RAM: 16GB DDR3 2133Mhz - GPU: XFX AMD Radeon 7850 1GB
SSD: Samsung Evo 850 256GB - HDD:  Toshiba P300 1TB, WD Blue 2.5" 5400rpm 1TB - PSU: XFX TS450 - OS: Win10

You people just keep hitting it out of the park, 1.9 was already such a great update and to then have a polish/fixes update so soon after that, is simply brilliant.

So glad I made the switch from Adobe to Affinity, thank you for an excellent suite of software and for all your hard work!
