How to cut out shape and export?

Thanks for the reminder Garry - it's Photo. But I have all three. Are there any videos that show the procedure you mention?

Create the shape, position it appropriately and nest each of the other layers in the shape layer. Please be aware that if you use a shape other than a rectangle you’ll get a white background on export because the JPEG format doesn’t support transparency.

How do I 'nest them in the shape layer'?

When I insert them in the layer everything vanishes

Are you perhaps masking/cropping instead of nesting/clipping?
