Uppercase C changes to lowercase c

This is a minor bug that has bothered me since first using Publisher a year ago.  I was hoping the newest version would correct it but it did not.

When using the text tool to type in an uppercase C, as soon as I add a period after it it changes to lowercase.  This does not happen if at the beginning of a new sentence but it does in all other cases, such as an initial for a last name (such as Mark C.).  Even odder is that this appears to be the only letter that this strange occurrence happens.

I am using Windows 10 Home and Publisher version 1.9.0.932

Thank you,

Mark C.

Welcome to the Affinity forums @Mark313!

What language are you using for your text frame. You can look this e.g. in the Character panel. When you go to Preferences >> Auto-Correct, maybe ".C" is inside this dictionary?

Go to

Edit > Preference > Abbreviations

and remove c. from the list

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

I'm assuming you meant maybe "C." (not ".C") is inside the Auto-Correct dictionary, and no it is not.

Yes, sorry this is what I meant and double-sorry, because I think carl123 has the correct solution.
