[designer] how to not duplicate the transform.

Recommended Posts

In designer, when you duplicate something (ctrl J) and then move it a bit. Then CTRL J again, then that duplicated version is also moved a bit. That move action is duplicated as well.

How can I (temporarily) disable that behavior?

It can be pretty annoying when doing a lot of duplicating to place stuff randomly and often having to zoom out because the duplicat ended up outside of the canvas.

Use Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V, rather than Ctrl+J.

I could've thought of this.... Why didn't I think of this?

Thanks. Very helpful. I feel a bit stupid now but I'll get over that.

That works?

Yes, for me yes.

P.S. After pressing Esc, it is of course necessary to select the duplicated object again, so that it is clear what is to be duplicated, but I take it for granted.
