Schousda
Hello, i used CorelDraw X7 until now. I know, there are different ways to export files to edit them in Affinity Designer. I'm having a problem importing text. Some text is importted as text, but other parts are imported as vectors. This means, i can't edit this text any more. This happens in any file format like PDF or SVG. Any idea, how i can import all text as text? Thanks.
wonderings
do you mean text inside of a Corel document or importing an entire Corel document in Affinity? If just text I would think you could just select in Corel>copy>Paste in Designer. If you want to open native Corel files in Designer I don't think that is an option and would not hold my breath for that feature.
Schousda
I try to import the whole document. For this i export it in CorelDraw and then i import it in Affinity Designer. Direct import of .cdr files is not supported.
John Rostron
Are you exporting from Corel as pdf or svg? When I moved from Corel Draw to Designer many years ago I found that neither pdf nor svg gave an ideal transfer, but between them I managed. Schousda
I tried exporting both ways. PDF and SVG. But it didn't work. How did you manage to export the best way? I also could export to AI, but these files are empty.

I loaded the pdf export and the svg export as two separate documents and then picked whatever layer gave the best result and combined them in the final designer file. It was a long time ago and I was using Corel Draw X7 (vintage 2015). The most problematical was text on a path. Schousda
I did some tests. Looks like it happens, if the text has a border. This is the import of one PDF file with two lines. One with border and one without:
