bleyden
Hello! I have tried setting all my paragraph settings to 0, but I am finding my text still showing outside of the text frame. What setting is needed to change this? Thanks!
walt.farrell
Can you show us a screenshot with some text? And with the text frame selected, please. bleyden
Sorry for the delay, here is that screenshot: The text shows up correctly, but it is super misleading when it appears off like that. I tried making the text frame bigger but it still shows up exceeding the boundary.
walt.farrell
Sorry, but that text looks like it's properly inside the frame, to me. I'm not sure what you're describing. bleyden
Maybe it's just a UI thing that is bothering me, but the Cursor extends beyond the frame, making me think before I start typing that the text will not end up in the right spot. walt.farrell
Thanks for the clarification. bleyden
Is there a fix or setting to keep the cursor in the constraints of the frame?
A_B_C
Well, it’s pretty common that the blinking cursor exceeds the boundaries of a text frame, bleyden. Your glyphs will often do as well, as the ascender of the glyphs belonging to the first line of a text frame will usually coincide with the top border of this frame (I say “usually,” since you could be using a baseline shift or a baseline grid relative to the spread, in which case this coincidence may not happen). And the blinking cursor as well as the selection highlight extend up to the font bounding box. So this is a pretty normal situation. I wouldn’t bother too much about it. 🙂
