AFphoto versus exported graphics file for placing in Publisher

Apologies if this has been asked before. If someone sends me a graphics file, such as a jpeg, for placing in a Publisher file, but I need to make some changes in Photo (usually converting to black and white and adjusting the colour balance), is it better to place the afphoto file in Publisher or to re-export ad jpg and place the graphics file? And similarly for a pdf which needs tweaking in Designer? What are the trade-offs?

Hi @JanGar5. Obviously you have AD and AP also. This means you don't have to leave APu as you can do all your actions using the StudioLink feature. The same applies for PDF files. Once embedded you can make edits with the Designer Persona.

Trade-offs with PDF: The PDF is interpreted and may differ from the original. Therefore the Passthrough option was introduced with 1.9, but with Passthrough you cannot edit the PDF.

Trade-offs with JPG: Apart from working with a format having lossy compression? None.

As opinions differ, there are perhaps other opinions from other users.
