In the shape tool, don't have a pointer like a single direction arrow, only a two side arrow found. I've to trim the other end to create a single direction arrow.

Afaik that is how it should be, you can eddit the arrow in the context toolbar.

And then create a preset - under the cog - in the context toolbar.

If you want a one-headed arrow you can create a line (or curve) with the Pen Tool and then set the Stroke to be thick and give it an arrow head there too.
