fewerjunk
I'm not sure what this would be called, so, I don't know exactly how to search for it to determine if this is a duplicate or not. Not sure if this is a bug, a feature, or by design. I just found it both interesting and useful. Has to do with importing strokes from Inkscape into Design. And some options regarding doing so. I took a simple outline: I wanted to trace it to a path. After looking at it, I figured it would be more versatile to recreate it using bezier curves. So I did. Saved both and opened them in Designer. Now, to look at this, there is the colored outline and the white interior. My challenge was to convert the interior as well, for purposes of using styles on the interior as well as the border. Again, not terribly difficult. Select the interior white spaces, invert the selection and delete everything else. Having done all of this, everything was exported and opened into Designer. What I found was that copying over the imported outline caused an interesting, and useful, anomaly. I also found that applying "Expand the stroke" as shown, fixed the anomaly. Using all three options meant, without too much effort I got an interesting pattern, an outside border, and an inside style which could all be modified using styles. Using "Expand the Stroke" before applying the style, fixed the anomaly and gave me other equally useful and interesting options as shown below.
