TIFF: Wrong calculation of resolution if resolution unit is cm

JoelOwens

Recommended Posts

The resolution is calculated incorrectly for TIFF files that have cm as resolution unit

Correct: Value in cm * 2.54 = Value in dpi
To me it looks like the following is calculated:
Affinity Photo Win: value in cm / 2.54 / 2
Affinity Photo Mac: Value in cm / 2.54

For example: The file specifies 118.1100038 pixels per cm. Correct would be 118.1100038 * 2.54 =299.9994097 dpi (300 dpi), Affinity Mac calculates 46 dpi, Affinity Windows 23 dpi.

Edit: What I initially thought was a difference between Win and Mac may also have another cause (see examples below)

Can you share a TIFF file that shows the problem, please?

I'm wondering if there's some issue with your 1x1px files. Perhaps try something that is more reasonably sized, and see if the same issues occur?

Ich glaube, es ist weniger ein Fehler bei Affinity zu suchen, sondern beim Windows-Code vom exiftool.
