pela
Hi I'm a procreate user and I do the last tweak in photoshop. But I just got affinity and I was thinking can be a good combo work in the two programs. Well I can't open any of my psd files. all of them say the file could not be parsed.. Now im wondering what to do
Staff MEB Posted September 28, 2015 Staff Share Posted September 28, 2015 Hello pela, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Can you attach your file here so we can check it out? Alternatively you can try to open your file in the latest Beta which has an improved importer. Just remember to keep the Mac App Store version installed since it's needed to run the Beta. You can get it from here. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Staff Ben Posted September 29, 2015 Staff Share Posted September 29, 2015 I've already made a fix for Procreate PSD files. Get the latest Beta and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, the fix required will likely be in the next Beta. That aside - Procreate produces bad PSD files - perhaps tell them about the bug. This has been covered in other threads on this forum. Photoshop opens them, but only because it overlooks the problem. Our importer is base on Adobe's documentation, and the issue is due to Procreate not forming correct PSD output. Re-save the PSD from Photoshop and Affinity will open it fine.
