David02
I wonder if there is a possibility to establish a link to an external text source (as in Indesign), e. g. managable by the resource manager.
Pšenda
Hi @David02, please, post your next suggestions and requests for new features into the "Feature Requests & Suggestions" forum, not in the "Tutorials" forum, where no one will find them, and therefore probably won't even implement them. thomaso
@Pšenda, I understand this as a question, kind of "I ask (myself) how to…" @David02, Welcome to the Forums! Linked text files is still a missing feature in Affinity. Though v.1.9.0 offers the new "Data Merge" feature which could be kind of a workaround. It may appear limited regarding text amount + text styles + layout but can be sufficient for specific tasks: at least it allows to link to & update text stored in a data sheet file format. Linked text files, as for books, were requested & discussed quite a few times, e.g.… In case you are interested in Data Merge there are discussions in the Beta forums and meanwhile also in the Q&A forum, e.g.… Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
OBJKT
I also would like to have an option to link external texts. This feature would be even better if you could define in import settings what source styles are replaced with Publisher styles. This way Styles management would be a lot easier.
