please, post your next suggestions and requests for new features into the "Feature Requests & Suggestions" forum, not in the "Tutorials" forum, where no one will find them, and therefore probably won't even implement them.

@David02, Welcome to the Forums!
Linked text files is still a missing feature in Affinity. Though v.1.9.0 offers the new "Data Merge" feature which could be kind of a workaround. It may appear limited regarding text amount + text styles + layout but can be sufficient for specific tasks: at least it allows to link to & update text stored in a data sheet file format.

Linked text files, as for books, were requested & discussed quite a few times, e.g.…


In case you are interested in Data Merge there are discussions in the Beta forums and meanwhile also in the Q&A forum, e.g.…
