Pyro
Hello! I'm gonna try to explain a bit better my issue with visual aid! So, I followed this tutorial on how to create smoke brushes. I'll credit the guy here as well! Tutorial link: Affinity Photo Tutorial - creating a smoke brush on Vimeo So, I did and I got this: Now, following the tutorial and testing my new brush on a big canvas I get this: As you can see, it maintains the "resolution" (not sure if it's the right word). Testing this on a 64x64 px Canvas, 300 DPI and having the brush at a 32 px width, this is the result: It gets all pixelated, which is a big no-no on what I hoped to achieve. My question is: Is there a way to keep the "resolution" of the same brush using a smaller Canvas? Thank you in regard!
NotMyFault
Hi Pyro, When you work on a very low resultion like 64x64, everything will get pixelated when zoomed to >=800% simply by the laws of physics and math. Try to look at the image at 100% zoom: it will be sharp, but next to invisible small. You may start with a higher resolution, e.g. 512x512, and resize (downsample) as the final step when exporting. This could lead to shaper results (for pixel art), but may cause additional issues for text and small objects when these are not perfectly pixel-aligned. Editing small logos and icons requires specific workflows to achive good results. I would recommand to search for tutorial videos, and learn from the experts (I'm not an expert in that areas).
