Marlow Meldrew
I just downloaded a new update to Affinity Photo and I can no longer export in JPEG format. When I go to Export I get the JPEG format, but when I do export it only gives me Affinity format to save in. I've only had the product a month and hardly got to know it, but it appears I might have bought a pup. IT'S NOT WORKING. Photoshop seemed much easier, but that's now a rip off. Any help appreciated. Joachim_L
Welcome to the Affinity forums @Marlow Meldrew! This bug is known and will be fixed in 1.9.1.x. In the meantime, just export the file. It will be exported as JPG anyway, although this is not shown in the export dialogue. Marlow Meldrew
NO it's not saved in Jpeg and I don't want to save it in the same place as I want to keep the original unaltered. It is not working. When I rename the file I only get offered Affinity format. This update should have been fully beta-tested before release. Marlow Meldrew
No, this is all I get offered. (I had to crop this using a very old copy of Photoshop since I couldn't use Affinity to do it) Edited February 12, 2021 by Marlow Meldrew
carl123
Go into File Manager and switch the option "File Name Extensions" on Then you should always see what type of file is being saved Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. It always shows what option I can get and with Affinity it shows no further options, dead end. If there is an option in Affinity, please advise where I find it, under which Menu option? Marlow Meldrew
If it helps ... I used to see two other export options, was one 'Export as'? I can't remember, but what happened to them. They were there before the update and perhaps significant the fact that they've gone AWOL.

You have cracked it, my son. Just tried it and it works. I just don't know how that got changed. Thank you everyone, I can carry on regardless now! (seem to remember a film of that title) I am on W.10 BTW for all the problems that gives me.
MayurPanghaal
It exports alright... just that it shows affinity files instead of jpeg. Should be corrected via update
