Tool shortcuts don't work in Spare Channel [1.9.0 and the beta 1.9.219]

The tool keyboard shortcuts don't work after I have created a Spare Channel and wish to use the brush or selection marquee etc. Oddly once I use the mouse to select a tool the shortcuts than work.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hi @Gabe,

After some more futzing about I seem to have this problem after opening a file (CR2 or PNG or TIFF) or making a new file and just painting or filling a new layer so I have something to work with. I use the basic shortcuts V, B, G, H etc and just get the system beep.

I make a new channel via the Channels pane and then select the Spare Channel in the Channels panel and try to edit it by painting or making a selection. I am stuck with what ever tool was previously selected Until I choose a tool in the tools palette. A screen recording would just be my cursor sitting there while you hear system beeps.

I have a Wacom tablet hooked up and I use Mac Shortcuts via the Preferences Keyboard shortcuts.

This is an annoyance more than anything, I would much rather have all the various studios' panels' tabbing through various fields working as that is a frequent showstopper.
