Designer crashing on file open 1.9.0

Recommended Posts

Dear Affinity-Team,

I've seen some messages about Affinity Photo and Publisher crashing, but no one seems to have the same problem in Designer.

My Problem: I created a file with some assets in Designer 1.8. Now the new version 1.9.0 crashes when I open this file. Since I would prefer not to publish my file, I would like to know if there is a way to send it to you so you could find out why it crashes.

Kind regards,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the files - I've reproduced that crash here and passed it on with development. I was hopeful it was the same cause as a couple of crashes we've seen in Publisher but it doesn't look to be the case. I'll get that passed over to development.

In the meantime you can get the 1.8.5 installer below if you need to run that to access the file - the 1.9.1 beta will still be functional (though 1.8.5 won't open any files saved in 1.9)

Hi Sean,

Thanks for the information, I have a png export which is totally enough for my current work. But I will keep your tip in mind in case I need it.
Good luck fixing the bug.

That's not a problem - it has now been fixed by development so should be fine in the next 1.9.1 release! :)

Thanks again for your help.
