DBCAB
I would like to have an icon for the Place Function on the Affinity Photo toolbar like the one in Affinity Designer, or the ability to add this icon under tools customization, rather than just a shortcut key, if there is a way to add the Place icon to the toolbar that I've missed how would I do this? I don't see the option here under available icons.

They are easily assessible and you don't need to fumble with menus or remember shortcuts. Or customize shortcuts. I assigned alt + PageUp to export instead of the four key default to remember it. Mind you I have to remember similar shortcuts for a lot of other programs. The world is bigger than Affinity. I hope more will be added as optimal icons. 🙂 Quote "The user interface is supposed to work for me - I am not supposed to work for the user interface." DBCAB
Yes I realize I can use copy and paste or use a keyboard shortcut or even make one or drag drop a picture and those are nice features I was just wondering why the place image icon isn't available as it is in designer, or if I missed something but Ty . Not a place button but an option that also works. But it gives very different results. With Place Image you get an Embedded or Linked (Image) layer. It will show up in the Resource Manager, and you can Edit or Replace it using buttons on the Context Toolbar (depending on the file type and whether it's Embedded or Linked). If it's a bitmap fill you don't have any of that functionality available.
