Crash on existing files / crashing with some assets

Recommended Posts

  1. Are you using the latest release version? Yes
  2. Can you reproduce it? Unfortunately yes, it happens every time I try to open some of my affinity designer files.
  3. Does it happen for a new document? If not do you have a document you can share that shows the problem? Prefer not to share publically, because it is a client file.
  4. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following:
  •    What is your operating system and version? Windows 10
  •    What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) Designer shuts down. It does not matter whether I double click the file, or open it with an already started designer.
  •    Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). Open File > Crash/Total shut down
  •    Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. N/A
  •    Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. N/A
  •    Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? N/A

Have you tried running the beta up a second time? We've implemented a fail safe where OpenCL wasn't working for some users and causing them to crash. If it crashes once, then it will not be used on second run up.

I've also reopened the dropbox link above for you as well.

Thanks for the file - much appreciated. It appears to be related to the 'ColorNegative' ICC profile used for the creation of the document. I've assigned an sRGB profile in 1.8.5 and resaved it, which allows me to re-open the file in 1.9 should you need it. I'll get the resaved one PM'd to you.

Would it be possible for you to attach a copy of the 'ColorNegative' ICC file you're document was using please, as I'll get that passed over to development also.
