Ann Stephens
Just downloaded yesterday and I'm creating my first document. I copied text from a Word document and pasted it into the Publisher document. The text flows well through many text boxes. My document has five rows of three text boxes each, and every other row is grouped and rotated 180 degrees. Everything looks great on the screen. When I print to my Epson 7840, the rotated text (Gill Sans 8pt) looks great; however, the rest of the text looks like the kerning has been adjusted to scrunch up the words and it looks terrible. I've tried editing the text style, but that doesn't seem to help. Any ideas? (Sample attached) ConfucianAnalects1ptext.pdf
Old Bruce
Hi and welcome to the forums @Ann Stephens, I think what has happened is you have selected the text frames and applied a scaling factor to the characters. Hard to tell without the Publisher document. Ann Stephens
I checked my document and that's not the problem. The font is a free version of Gill Sans. Maybe I'll try another font and see if that's the problem. Thanks for taking the time to answer!
Staff Jon P Posted February 16, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 16, 2021 Hi @Ann Stephens, Can you upload the document and the version of the Gill Sans font you are using here and I'll take a look Thanks Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
Ann Stephens
I uploaded the files as requested, Jon. I ended up going with a different font (Myriad Pro) that worked just fine. It'd be nice to know if there's hope for ever using Gill Sans in a future document, though! Thanks for taking the time. Ann
