creating assets for reuse

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I want to create a "watermark" called "SAMPLE" and save it as an asset inside of Affinity Designer to use in multiple documents/projects.

I have taken the "text" tool and created the design for use in my initial project.  But how do I, or can I, save it as such that I can reuse it in future projects without having to recreated the asset over and over each time?

I tried the "copy/paste" method to and from the clipboard, but that really isn't very effective or efficient.

I've tried to search for the answer on the forum but I have not found any relevant information.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

See:

So what you have to do in short here is ...

  1. Open the asset panel (View > Studio > Assets)
  2. Create a new category there (see the hamburger menu)
  3. Name the new category for example "Watermark"
  4. Create a subcategory, name that one "My Watermark" (or whatever)
  5. Select your whole design and drag'n'drop it into the subcategory or
alternatively you can use the subcategories hamburger menu's "insert selected"
  6. Export your created "Watermark" category
  7. For general reusing of your watermark then just drag it always from the assets panel category into your document
