Stitching anomalies (David Finley)

Recommended Posts

Hello.

While putting Affinity Photo through some tests, one of which was stitching a panorama, I noticed an issue. I took 4 .tiff files and gen'd a panoramic in Photoshop v22.1.1 as well as Affinity Photo 1.9. The image from Photoshop is free of abnormalities while the Affinity panorama created with the same files has what appear to be a number of out of focus areas near the sections that were stitched. Is there something to this process besides selecting the images that I want to create a panoramic from and then selecting "Stitch Panorama"?

I would've attached the files but they far exceed your size limitation for uploads.

Please advise and thanks in advance.

Hi @David Finley,

Welcome to the forums :)

My apologies for the delayed response here, we are extremely busy following our 1.9 update and working from home is unfortunately extending our response window to be longer than normal, many thanks for your continued patience and understanding here.

I'd like to test your files here, as the rendering issue you were seeing may have been due to OpenCL implementation that was recently added to Affinity - however it may be due to the stitching algorithm in Affinity.

Could you please upload these files to the below link for me, then respond here once they have been uploaded?

Many thanks in advance!
