tweakyblinders
Trying to use the Blemish Removal Tool on the Sky in an image and instead of replacing the area with required alternative when you drag the cursor it just leaves Black Circles on the image as per image attached. Has something changed with the use of this tool ? Please advise . . .
Joachim_L
I could be wrong, but the imperfections are removed by the black circles, aren't they? No, seriously. Please turn of hardware acceleration in Preferences >> Performance and try again. tweakyblinders
I have saved the work thinking that maybe the black circles were just a viewing issue but they are still there on the saved image. Will try hardware acceleration as you suggest. thanks
tweakyblinders
No that has made no difference, The required alternative appears as you drag the area across the image but when you release the button it changes to a black circle over the desired area

Now I managed to get a black circle too. What is the width for the Blemish Removal tool. I set mine to 1235px and got a perfect black circle. Staff Pauls Posted February 9, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 9, 2021 I can definitely see a problem with large brush sizes and the hardware acceleration
tweakyblinders
Hardware acceleration was already on with mine but I removed the tick, replaced it then shut down the entire program, reloaded and this issue is still happening
Joachim_L
With the 4096px brush size I reported in this forum hw acceleration was off. tweakyblinders
Ahhh, Ive tried reducing the brush size. Limit seems to be about 300px. Anything above that seems to have the Black Circle issue Joachim_L
Staff Pauls Posted February 9, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 9, 2021 I dont get black circles and performance is worse with hardware acceleration on - Could you confirm your graphics cards and CPU models please
Staff Chris B Posted February 9, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 9, 2021 I'm not seeing the black circles but performance is slower. I think this might be a combination of having OpenCL on without a discrete graphics card.
