Komatös
@walt.farrell Without OpenCL, some things take more time with large files or/and many layers. With the live filters, for example. A downgrade to 1.8.xxxx makes sense if you depend on a faster workflow. On the other hand, when you downgrade, you have all the bugs that were fixed with the upgrade version. Here you simply have to weigh up whether you need the fast workflow or a stable programme basis. I would like to have both, but life is not a pony farm. 😅 PaulAffinity 1 Quote AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | INTEL Arc A770 LE 16 GB | 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz | Windows 11 Pro (22621.2283)Affinity Suite V 2.2.0 & Beta 2.2.0.2005 Better translations with: https://www.deepl.com/translator Need a system wide color picker? That would only be true if the 1.9 code path without OpenCL is different from the 1.8.5 code path (which also does not use OpenCL). I would expect the performance of 1.9 without OpenCL to be identical to the performance of 1.8.5. Perhaps @Mark Ingram can comment on that. But where does it say that 1.9 will be slower than 1.8 if you're not using OpenCL. We're pointing out that 1.9 without OpenCL will have equivalent performance to 1.8. Therefore, lack of OpenCL for your GPU is not a good reason to revert to the old release. Nowhere, because, as you say, it won't. All the 1.8.5 code is still there (we call it software rendering) and there is a new hardware rendering OpenCL code-path. If you turn OpenCL off (or if it is disabled for your hardware, then going back to 1.8.5 is simply throwing away all the new features and fixes, it will not be faster. Photo amateur
Hopefully AMD will solve the problem with their drivers soon and that the hardware acceleration can be activated again with the next update. Komatös
PIXELFAENGER
Hi, is there an update of the hopefully coming bug-fix from AMD? What exactly is the "bug" that affinity discovered in the driver for AMD RX 5000?

pete757
Has there been any update to the Radeon driver? Seems like a while since we had any update on this. Could it be at all related to this issue:
