Startup Paint Brush Tool lag / bug

Recommended Posts

Happens only after the first start.

1. Start AP, create a new document.

2. Pick Paint Brush Tool. I guess it would happen with other tools too.

3. Draw a wavy line (like in the attached video).

Result: The line is not wavy, but more or less straight. Only start and end point seem to be correct. If hardware acceleration is turned off, everything works normal. Hardware specs see my signature.

What happens if you create the pixel layer first and then paint?

Creating a pixel layer first makes no difference, only turning off hardware acceleration.

I have just reproduced this. I disabled the 2060 in my laptop in Device Manager. Created a new doc > added a pixel layer > Paint Brush Tool > drew a curved line but it came out straight.

This does not happen with a dGPU enabled in the system.

If you have a dedicated GPU, like your 1050ti you will not see the issue. It only happens when you do not have a dedicated GPU and rely on the Intel HD series. So by me disabling my RTX 2060 in Device Manager, I could reproduce the issue because Affinity was using OpenCL with the Intel HD chip.
